Creating with Essential Oils: DIY Candles, Bath Salts and Blends

We're living in a strange time.

Social distancing and stay-at-home orders are major adjustments that at times can have us feeling stir-crazy. There is only so much cleaning and re-organizing one person can do, which is why we came up with a how-to guide to get you through the days ahead. Essential oils offer some amazingly beneficial tools to help in times of distress, discomfort and so much more. Get your collection of oils out and get ready to create products you will love!

Easy to Make Candles

Candles have the power of offering hope and light in times of darkness. Create candles of your own - in the scents of your choosing, with a few items that can be purchased on Amazon or at your local store. What you will need:
• Mason Jar or Metal Tin
• Soy Wax Flakes
• Essential Oils of Your Choosing
• Wick
• Glass Bowl
Simply place the soy wax flakes in the glass bowl and place the bowl in a saucepan three-quarters full of boiling water. Stir lightly as the soy wax melts and add in essential oils gradually. Place the wick in the mason jar, pour in the wax mixture and leave overnight to harden. Pro-tip: For a stronger scent, let candle cure for an extended period of time.
Mix it up! Create candles that are safe enough to rub into the skin. You can create massage oils, muscle and pain relief candles and so much more! Simple add coconut oil, shea butter or jojoba to the soy mix.

Make Some Bath Salts

There's nothing like a bath, especially in stressful times. Enjoy a bath salt that relaxes the muscles, joints and the mind - from the comfort of your home. Our goal is to provide simple instructions for beautiful products that can be made in a short amount of time, but you also have the freedom to add in whatever ingredients you love for a little extra kick!

This recipe is simple and calls for the following items:

• Mason Jar (preferably 8oz)
• Epsom Salt (3 parts)
• Course Sea Salt (1 part)
• Essential Oils of Your Choice - we recommend relaxing oils such as lavender or ylang-ylang
• Dried Flowers (Optional)
Mix the epsom salt and sea salt well in a bowl, adding your oils as you thoroughly mix. Finish with your dried flowers and store in a cool place until ready for use.
